Don Servando Rubio, foto: Anatolio VázquezNuevamente la Huasteca está de luto, murió en un lecho humilde uno más de los grandes, este sábado 2 de mayo dejó de existir don Servando Rubio, quien en más de 60 años de trayectoria deleitó con su violín a muchos corazones huastecos. Fue fundador de los tríos "Regionales de Hidalgo", "Alma del son huasteco" y "Amanecer Huasteco".

Nació el 23 de octubre de 1932 en San Rafael, municipio de Chapulhuacán, Hgo. (misma tierra en donde también nació Don Frumencio Ortíz Nápoles, nacido en 1923 y fallecido en septiembre pasado).
Como muchos jóvenes, Servando tuvo que migrar en 1958 hacia la capital del país en búsqueda de mejores oportunidades, empieza a trabajar como albañil pero ya sabía tocar el violín la huapanguera y la jarana, su padre era de aquellos campesinos-músicos que le había legado a sus 9 hijos esos saberes.
He aquí la crónica de nuestro amigo Gregorio Martínez Moctezuma de Azteca21 Magazine en donde le hicieron un homenaje a Don Servando por sus 60 años de trayectoria en el año 2007.
